Mission
Across Latin America, political parties are among the least trusted institutions. Too many are fragile, personalistic, transactional, or disconnected from the citizens they are meant to represent.
This is not just a crisis of political parties. It is a crisis for democracy itself. Weak parties undermine representation and accountability, contribute to political volatility, and make effective, coherent government harder.
Plural is a platform for research, analysis, and reform focused on building better political parties in Latin America. Through country-level mapping, comparative research, and practical resources, Plural aims to support academics, activists, and citizens working to rebuild the foundations of representative democracy.
Plural’s mission is simple: to understand how Latin America can build better parties and, through them, stronger democracies.
